Recovering Economy Sparks Expansion Efforts
Salt Lake City, Utah and Woodside, California – MWI, a Web development services firm, announced today that it has opened a new office in the Bay Area of California to serve its clients located between Silicon Valley and Seattle.
Peter Carlston, former operations manager for revenue management software firm Redi2 Technologies in Oakland, California, will manage the new MWI office in Woodside, California. He will handle business development and account management as a regional director for MWI.
The move is one of many similar initiatives currently underway or in planning by MWI. “We’re encouraged by signs of recovery in the U.S. economy,” said Joshua Steimle, CEO of MWI. “We’ve known since the downturn in 2000 that the economy would come back someday, and our plan all along has been to start expanding as soon as we saw the true signs. We believe this recovery is the real thing and we want to be a part of it.” MWI is also in the process of opening an office in Washington, D.C. and has plans to open an office in Denver during the first quarter of 2004.
Carlston’s first priority is to develop business for MWI in the Bay Area by forming strategic partnerships and relationships within the business community. “So many companies, not to mention our competitors, have come and gone in Silicon Valley and the surrounding area that we face the challenge of being seen as just another firm” said Carlston. “That’s why my focus right now is on building long-term relationships so people can truly get to know who we are and the quality of service we provide.”
MWI is involved in several projects for Utah-based companies with connections to the Bay Area, including Sorenson Capital, Wasatch Venture Fund, Infobase Ventures, and Open Source Business Conference 2004.
MWI’s new office is located at 3820 Sand Hill Road, Woodside, CA, 94062. Please call 650.851.9181 or email pcarlston@mwi.com for more information.
