Event Devoted to Analyzing and Building Successful Open Source Based Businesses
Woodside, California – MWI has developed a website presence, and has played a key role in branding and creating print advertising for the Open Source Business Conference 2004, the first event of its kind, which focuses on analyzing and discovering successful businesses based on open source technologies.
The conference will be held in San Francisco at The Westin St. Francis, March 16-17. The conference includes an unprecedented gathering of open source business firepower, including Clayton M. Christensen, author of The Innovator’s Dilemma and a professor at the Harvard Business School; Raymond Lane, General Partner at Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, and former President, Oracle; Chris Stone, Vice Chairman of Novell and chief architect of Novell’s recent resurgence; and Eben Moglen, General Counsel of the Free Software Foundation, among others. Corporate and media sponsors include Boston Consulting Group, Novell, IBM, HP, VERITAS, Microsoft, Computer Associates, ZDNet, Information Week, and Business 2.0 Magazine.
“When the momentum of the conference outstripped our web presence, MWI worked within our exceptionally tight deadlines to develop a polished, high-end online presence, thereby making the job of promoting the conference to attendees and sponsors much easier” said Matt Asay, founder of the conference. “MWI’s quality of design has only been matched by the helpfulness of their development and strategy team.”
About the Open Source Business Conference 2004
The Open Source Business Conference (“OSBC”) is the only concerted effort to address and answer the question of how to build a business around OSS. Over the course of the two-day conference, attendees will interact with the brightest thinkers and most innovative practitioners in open source business today. Attendees will leave with both a deeper appreciation of the voids remaining in the OSS arsenal, and a fuller understanding of how to resolve these gaps to build sustainable, higher-margin OSS businesses.
The conference will be held at The Westin St. Francis, San Francisco, CA, March 16-17.
