Redesigned Website Features Contest System and Other Enhancements
Salt Lake City – MWI, a firm offering web development and related marketing services, announced today the launch of a newly redesigned website for Scrapworks, a manufacturer of scrapbooking products. The new website features improved navigation elements, content management functions, email newsletters, and a system for Scrapworks to manage contests online.
“MWI’s value to us was that they were able to build the system we needed without us having to hold their hand through the process” said Kelly Struhs, CEO at Scrapworks. “We told them what we wanted, and the next time we talked to them they were almost finished, and they got it just right with minimal input from us.”
The main focus of the upgrade to Scrapworks website centers on a system to manage online contests. The first Scrapworks contest involves giving away a Volkswagen Beetle to the contestant who submits the best set of scrapbooking pages. The system MWI built allows contestants to create an online profile they can use to enter this first contest as well as future contests. Contestants enter the contest by uploading photos of their scrapbooking pages prior to the deadline.
Once the deadline passes, employees at Scrapworks will view all the entries online and choose a winner of the brand new Beetle.
Rather than building a one-time solution that would require customizing and further modifications by MWI in the future, a system was built to allow Scrapworks to manage multiple contests without needing any technical expertise, and without needing to depend on a web development firm for future updates. The system includes an integrated email notification system for contestants to confirm registration and retrieve lost passwords.
In addition to the contest management system, MWI performed upgrades to the Scrapworks website by removing frames, simplifying navigation, and creating the ability for Scrapworks to manage virtually the entire site through the use of a content management system.
