Extra Space Storage: Intranet Interface Design
Extra Space Storage is the second largest self-storage company in the United States with hundreds of facilities, thousands of employees, and tens of thousands of customers, creating a unique set of needs which Extra Space Storage was trying to solve by creating a new corporate intranet. When Extra Space Storage approached MWI they already had an idea for how they wanted their corporate intranet to function and what features would be included, but they wanted to get an outside set of eyes to work on the interface design. This intranet would make use of AJAX so that users could customize their experience by doing things like dragging and dropping panels. This required us to design a user interface that was modular but which would look cohesive even after a user had moved parts of the interface around.
The final deliverables included an extensive set of header graphics as well as standards-compliant HTML/CSS code for the Extra Space Storage's internal developers to work with.
